I was very fortunate to receive 3 Day training on "the Essentials of Project Management " by our organization CDAC R&D Mumbai during 24 -26 th May 2016 at CDAC Juhu.
It was offered by FANDS Infonet pvt.Ltd. The instructor Nitinn Gokhale (PMP, PRINCE2) was extremely versed in all aspects of Project Management and was able to bring all aspects of the topic down to a level that engaged the novice Project Manager but also was challenging for experienced PM's.
In the approximate 20 hours of class time I realized that my Project Management skills are fundamentally solid & can get much more sophisticated with just a bit more learning of Project Manager best practices.
I learned so many new concepts related project management such as Project Management Framework ,Project Management basic key terms , Project Management Process Groups , Project Management Knowledge Areas ,Importance of Soft Skills for any Project Manager (PM) .
I was surprised & happy to know we've been already using some of the project management techniques like "RACI chart" for responsibility delegation management among the members as suggested by our proactive Project Manager in our department.
We have learned and discussed various processes during any project like Project Initiating , Project Planning ,Project Execution Process , Project Monitoring & Control , Project Closing Process ,Tools for Project Management , and also briefly about Agile Methodologies , Scrum etc.
I encourage all levels of management in any industry to take the course not only to learn about the process but to be able to help manage work/effort estimates for everyday projects not just special projects.
Definitely this brief session will help me in long run for developing my management skills . I can't wait to learn more.
